A Resolution on West Lake

The Franciscan Sisters of Mary are grateful for the Environmental Protection Agency’s decision to move forward on their latest proposal to clean up the radioactive waste at West Lake Landfill. The proposed schedule of four and a half years provides a light at the end of a tunnel that has stretched on for decades. It is time.

The FSM Pray for the Children and Parents Separated at the Border

As an order of Catholic Sisters who have devoted our lives to nurturing the health and well-being of others—particularly women and children—we, the Franciscan Sisters of Mary, are distressed beyond words at the cruelty taking place at our borders. We condemn in the strongest terms the bullying of defenseless children and parents that has taken place and continues to persist in the name of “border security.”

Five FSM Attend Sisters of Earth Conference

Srs. Sherri Coleman, Jeanne Derer, Irma Kennebeck, Marge O’Gorman, and Sandy Schwartz, all members of the FSM Focus Implementation Group, attended the Sisters of Earth Conference at Mount St. Joseph University on the grounds of the Sisters of Charity in Cincinnati, Ohio, July 12 to 15.
